“What do you look for when you are jurying?”

    • Appearance...Overall attraction to a piece
    • Translation from a vision to a 2 or 3 dimensional work of art
    • Combination of the following attributes:
        • Design
        • Line
        • Color
        • Shape
        • Texture
        • Repetition
        • Pattern
        • Artistic Quality
    • Work that can catch and hold the juror’s attention.
    • Emotional meaning (possibly whimsy, fright, or a depth of connection)
    • A sense of synergy
    • Informed intuitive works...it's really important that the artist has a good base of knowledge to build on.
    • Control of medium
    • Harmony within the art
    • Preservation of intuition
    • Declaration of edges
    • Clarity factor... lucidity and simplicity
