Ann Schwartz has always had a passion for the arts. She has experimented in various mediums, but over fifteen
years ago discovered a love for creating sculptures out of alabaster stone. Ann works with direct carving,
finding inspiration in the coloration and flow of the stone itself. Her sculptures reveal the female form
conveying a sense of movement with the subtle details of flowing fabric. She commented about her work, "My visions
emerge from the stone as I delve deeper into its core and only truly know what will appear with the final polishing. I
enjoy sharing my art and insist that people touch and caress them as they learn what can be created from within a stone."
Living in New Jersey for many years, Ann held several one-person shows as well as winning numerous awards in exhibitions
in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Then five years ago, much to the dismay of her many collectors, she moved
to the artistically prolific environment of south Florida where she had to once again start to establish her career. Ann
joined Women in the Visual Arts and the Boca Museum Artist Guild where she has happily shown her creations at their various
exhibitions. Ann's work has been displayed at the Masterpiece Gallery in Boca Raton, the Danskin Galleries on Worth
Avenue in Palm Beach, and the Alexandre Gallery in Mizner Park in Boca Raton.
Ann is currently showing her work at The Women in the Visual Arts Gallery in Delray Beach. She recently won second
place for her sculpture "A New Beginning" at the Boca Museum Artist Guild. She also sold a sculpture through BMAG
called "A Dream Come True" and that certainly defines how she feels about the art world in Florida.
