Photographs created by John reside in several prominent collections, here in the U.S., England, and Canada. Recently the recipient of several awards including an international award of 2nd place in Arts & Antiques Professional Photographic competition that has been published in the June 2004 Issue. The magazine also featured his work, entitled Lyrical Vespers, on its front cover. Currently, he is juried in as a contributing artist to the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

John graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture (NYC) in 1959 and then went on to his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of California at Berkeley; graduating from both with honors. After a stint in the army he returned to New Jersey from California and began private practice in architecture (1969), and continues in architectural design today. He has been awarded statewide awards and citations for architectural innovation and design and served as an architectural consultant to several communities in New Jersey. He also acted as chairman of the Architectural Review Board for the Historic District of Ocean Grove, N.J. and assisted in formulating guidelines for the development and preservation of that unique community.

Having a natural interest in visual presentation he began working with a camera early in his career with brief periods as an architectural and theatrical photographer. This work was done utilizing a 4 x 5 view camera and essentially limited to black and white photographs, which were processed in his darkroom. Several awards were won from various competitions in the New York Metropolitan area during this period.

Currently he uses a Canon digital Camera for all photography. A variety of software programs are utilized to augment the images that are produced on an in house printer. He believes that the artist must invest creative content in the work in order to produce fresh and unique images for the viewer. The goal is to present the viewer with a refreshing, new way to see ordinary objects.

Graphic images can be prepared in a variety of media and sizes. Feel free to contact John for custom requirements and to find the answers to any questions.  Also, check out more of his work at kayakjackphotos.blogspot.com.
