The Art Works of Pios Rodaman:
The artist who is known as "Pios", was born in the early 1950's in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  The city's tropical flavors and carnival atmosphere can be seen in many of his paintings.  However, upon close inspection, this very talented artist has numerous facets to his works, and equally numerous "periods" that his work communicates to the viewer.

About the Artist:
Pios has studied and created under several accomplished artists.  Early in his career he studied under Ms. Canella.  Later on he studied at the studios of the renowned Brazilian Master Painter Mr. Machado.  His contemporary techniques were refined at the Universidade Santa Ursula in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he became best known for the use of his own hue of colors.
As the artist's works have evolved so has his signature.  Prior to 1998 the artist signed his works as PIO RODA, his baptized name.  His works created between 1998 through 2003 reflect PIUS RODAMANO.  Currently in his evolution his is signing his work as PIOS RODAMAN.
Pios is listed in the dictionary of art: ARTES PLASTICAS BRISIL, vol. 6 under the name Pio Roda.

Pios in the USA:
Upon settling in Florida in 1999, his first show was at the Suzanna Faccini Gallery in Miami's art district.  Though having success with his "used lube oil media" paintings (third phase) he once again adapted his work and returned to the world of color.
True to his philosophy, Pios strove to adapt his work so that the use of "easy media" was showcased with new themes, bringing love and romance to his paintings.  He returned to geometric forms, light colors with the nuance of white and beige.
A common theme in his work was the presence of angels and everything peaceful. During his initial years in Florida, Pios' work reflected his new life, until ciucumstances and personal events once again caused the artist to retreat and look within himself to reflect the direction.
Pios refers to 2004 as his "white" year... a blank canvas, no art, no production, just reflection.
Pios once again made a transition, by painting with acrylics rather than with oils. Due to the fast drying properties of the acrylic media, Pios adapted his techniques to incorporate fast thinking and equally fast action.  With his new pace, Pios began putting dissimilar colors on top of one another using transparency to create the desired hue of color effect.
Along with Pios' new technique, he began to express his philosophy and belief in God, the greatest artist who created the earth, the stars and the universe.  Pios began to express his beliefs through the symbolic use of the more predominant and complete geometric form... The Circle! ...
