Letter from Our President

Dear New Associate Member:

Welcome to The Artists' Guild! You have joined a vibrant, active and growing organization of artists and art lovers from all over South Florida.  We are a dynamic group of individuals all working together to support art and The Boca Raton Museum of Art.  We offer a fantastic way to be a part of an exciting organization, show your own artwork and support the Museum - all while you develop new friendships!  I hope you will participate in our events and become active in the organization.  Becoming active is the best way to meet other members, thereby making new friends.  If everyone contributes a little time to our Guild, we can reach our full potential by expanding the scope of our activities, promoting our work and supporting the Museum more efficiently and effectively.

As an Associate Member, there are many ways in which you can participate in the Guild, including "Open Shows", "All Guild Member" exhibitions, limited Participation in The Artists' Guild Gallery, Membership Meetings and volunteering on a variety of committees.  Your eligibility to enter a specific exhibition/show is listed on our website under "Entry Forms". After 90 days as an Associate Member, you may be considered for Signature Level Membership. We jury for Signature Level Status several times each year (jury schedule is on our website). The information and jurying sessions are on our website under "How to Attain Signature Status".  This process requires an independent juror to jury your artwork.

Signature Members may participate in our Small Exhibition program, Biennial Museum Exhibition and are eligible to fully participate in our Artists Guild Gallery at 512 E. Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach.  Participants in the Guild Gallery must pay an annual participation donation, in addition to entry fees and mandatory staffing requirements.  All exhibitions of The Artists' Guild are juried and our artists are held to very high standards of presentation as well as artistic accomplishment.  We take great pride in the quality of these exhibitions.

We now use our website as the primary source of information about The Artists' Guild. You must be able to access our website and use e-mail to be fully able to participate with the Guild. The Members' Calendar and all entry forms are on the website.  You will need access to a computer to keep informed of Guild events and to download entry forms.  The computer in the Guild Gallery is available to access the website and submit entry forms. Each exhibition has a different set of guidelines to be eligible to participate, which is on the entry form page of our website.

As President, I feel your input and ideas are important.  We have an Associate Member Chairperson on our Board to encourage participation and communication with our Associate Members.  If you have suggestions to improve our organization, please e-mail our Associate Member Chairperson or me.  A list of our Board members and Committee Chairs is provided with this letter to help you orient and get you involved.

I look forward to meeting you.  Please introduce yourself at our next event, New Member Welcome Reception or general membership meeting.  Each member of our Guild is important and helps to make us what we are.... So again, WELCOME!

Sincerely
Veronica "Roni" DiSabello
