The President's Column

Welcome to the newly designed website of The Artists' Guild.   On these pages you will learn the who, what, when, where and why of The Artists' Guild. The website is still in development, so not all the pages may be functioning currently, but they will soon be up to date with a LOT of information about the Guild.

The Artists' Guild is an auxiliary of the Boca Raton Museum of Art. It was established in its current form in 1984 by the Board of Trustees of the Boca Raton Museum of Art (see "History of the Guild" for more details). At present, The Artists' Guild has over 450 members, divided between Associate Members and Signature Members. We draw our members from the local community, as well as from Miami, Naples, Jupiter and Orlando. About 160 Signature Members actively show their work at the Guild's Images Gallery located in Mizner Park in Boca Raton, FL.

The Artists' Guild sponsors 10 juried exhibitions each year at the Images Gallery and another 10+ juried exhibitions in area locations throughout the year. A percentage of all sales from Guild exhibits benefits the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Membership is open to all art lovers and artists working in any fine art media. See "How to Join" for more information.

The Guild just completed jurying for our 2008 Biennial Exhibition which will be on display at the Museum this summer. The Biennial is our most competitive exhibition and brings out the finest work from our Signature Members. The Opening Reception for this exhibition is Tuesday evening, July 1st.  Please take some time to visit the Museum this summer to enjoy the Biennial and the All Florida exhibition which run concurrently.

The Artists' Guild is a non-profit organization of dedicated volunteers. The Images Gallery is staffed by the artists whose work is on display.  We set very high standards and permit only original artwork to be submitted for our juried exhibitions. All of our opening receptions are open to the public. Please see our Calendar for opening reception dates.

I hope you will take the time to come to our shows, enjoy the art, and support your local art community.
