Elaine Zelin has been exhibiting her work in New York, New Jersey and Florida since 1972. In 1982 and 1983
she was the recipient of two awards for stone carving from the National Association of Women Artists. Elaine
has studied in many places including the Art Students League in New York, Pietrasanta, Italy and LaCoste,
France. She is currently represented by the Boca Museum Artists' Guild and the Rosetta Stone Gallery
in Juno Beach, Florida.
Elaine's sculptures are a variety of highly polished stone. Her work has evolved from the human
torso, to an involvement with the architectural forms of the city, to the dynamics of asymmetrically
placed curves of the arches of Italian duomos. Elaine says, "I try to project a feeling of rhythm,
mobility and spontaneity in my compositions. I am most happy when someone wants to reach out, touch
the stone and feel the curves."
