Que Lan is originally from Taiwan, where she studied Oriental Calligraphy, one Brush Stroke Painting, as well as Chinese Water Painting.  Seventeen years ago she moved to Boca Raton, Florida where she became an American Citizen, and studied Interior Design at Lynn University.

She then turned again to her love of fine art, studied Western Art, Human Anatomy in Figure Drawing Classes for a year.  Then studied Oil and Watercolor painting for two years.

Her interest then turned to what has become her most beloved art form, Stone Sculpturing.  She studied with Sylvia Jaffe, then opened her own studio for two years, and recently moved her studio to Boca Raton, at the "Sculpture Workshop".  Although only sculpturing for a short time, she has reached professional status.

Que Lan has won 1st Place in a Juried Art Show sponsored by the Boca Raton Museum, and has sold several pieces to private collectors.  She sculpts Alabaster, Marble, Onynx Figurative, Realistic, and Abstract.

Que Lan has introduced a fresh new style to the Stone Sculpturing World.  Her philosophy is best expressed in her own words —

"I have no predetermined plan when starting to sculpt a stone.  I plan as I go, letting the stone show me it’s true beauty.  By doing this I am continually surprised by what is happening.  It truly is a beautiful experience."
Que Lan is a Master Stone Sculptress!
